Information about the various TIPP-KICK products, materials, and differences between player types.
We offer a range of classic game sets. They are all ready to play straight away and require no additional equipment.
- TIPP-KICK Classic is the original version from 1924, featuring a felt playing field (80×47 cm), two players, two goalkeepers, two goals, and two balls.
- TIPP-KICK Junior Cup has a slightly larger playing field (82×56 cm) with an additional surround board so the ball cannot roll off the table.
- TIPP-KICK Cup is the ultimate game, featuring a large field (108×72 cm), net goals, and Star Keepers that can also fall forwards.
- The Retro Edition takes inspiration from the iconic 1950s design and features premium materials (wood, brass, and a metal box).
In addition, there are licensed editions (e.g. VfB Stuttgart, DFB), the premium games Supercup with a half-time clock and international players in the TIPP-KICK sports bag, and the Pro-Set Deluxe for professional players with Pro Kickers.
When speaking with customers, we like to offer the following guidance:
- TIPP-KICK Classic is the starter set: affordable and perfect for anyone who wants to play the original TIPP-KICK they grew up with. It’s easy to take to friends’ houses or on holiday. (For beginners, children, nostalgia)
- TIPP-KICK Junior Cup is the best-seller – largely thanks to the surround board, which keeps the playing field taut, prevents waves, and keeps the ball in play. (For beginners, children)
- TIPP-KICK Cup – for the best TIPP-KICK experience on the largest playing field, with premium net goals (fewer disputes over whether the ball crossed the line). (For older children, adults, and anyone already familiar with TIPP-KICK)
- TIPP-KICK Retro (for TIPP-KICK collectors and enthusiasts) – the beautiful metal box looks spectacular on any shelf. With brass goals and wooden trims, the Retro Edition is perhaps the most premium TIPP-KICK game of all.
Each figure has its own foot shape and enables different shooting techniques – offering tactical variety and the right option for every TIPP-KICK game situation.
- TIPP-KICK Kicker (round foot) – the versatile standard player.
- TIPP-KICK Top-Kicker (flat foot) – ideal for precise low shots and chips. Top Kickers are typically used for club teams such as Bayern or Stuttgart.
- TIPP-KICK Star-Kicker (instep) – perfect for half-high and curved shots. Star Kickers are typically used for national teams such as Germany and France.
The three Pro Kickers in the “Pro Team Sport” series each have differently shaped stainless steel legs optimised for various shooting techniques.
- Pro-Allround does it all – whether low, high, powerful, or delicate, it suits every game situation.
- Pro-Strike specialises in hard, precise shots.
- Pro-Loop enables delicate chips and lobs that can bypass the opposing defence.
The legs can be swapped without tools using a stainless steel screw.
- TIPP-KICK Goalkeeper Toni: our standard goalkeeper who can dive left and right at the press of a button to save shots
- TIPP-KICK Star Keeper: the goalkeeper has an additional function – he can also throw himself forwards to secure the ball.
- The TIPP-KICK Pro Goalie from the Pro Team Sport series has no mechanism and is fixed firmly to the holding block, because human reflexes are simply the quickest. The Pro Goalie works best with firmly screwed goals on a (tournament) board!
TIPP-KICK is a modular system. You can freely combine any replacement parts and accessories. For example, if you have a TIPP-KICK Classic with plastic goals, you can simply upgrade to net goals with our net goals set, and they will fit straight into your existing game.

Age Recommendation & Safety
Information on age suitability and the safety of TIPP-KICK products.
Our game is not suitable for children under 3 years of age, as it contains small parts that could be swallowed, such as the balls. Due to the motor skills required, we recommend TIPP-KICK for children aged 5 and upwards – with no upper age limit. TIPP-KICK is fun at any age!
For adults there even are tournaments and National competitions in Germany.
Yes. As the manufacturer, we comply with all required statutory safety regulations for toys, as well as voluntary industry standards. It is very important to us that children can play safely with our toy – and that has been the case for over 100 years.
TIPP-KICK for companies
Information for business customers wishing to use TIPP-KICK as a promotional item or corporate gift.
TIPP-KICK is a perfect promotional gift to capture the excitement around football. And it's no cheap plastic collection item. We offer individualised promotional games for companies with the players painted in the company colors and your logo on player and/or package. You can find more information about it in the section Promotional Games above.
Yes, TIPP-KICK is an ideal team-building activity. Quick rounds of 2×5 minutes fit into any break, a tournament with 8–16 people can be run in 1–2 hours, the rules can be explained in 2 minutes, and the game is a great conversation starter and mood booster. A few sets are enough for an entire department.
For a TIPP-KICK tournament, you need at least one TIPP-KICK set per game table and a flat, stable surface. With 8 participants, 2 sets are recommended for parallel matches. You can choose the tournament format (knockout or group stage) freely. The standard rules are included with every set. For larger events, please feel free to contact us – we are happy to help!
Care, Tips & Miscellaneous
Practical advice on care, storage, and common everyday questions about TIPP-KICK.
First, please check whether the leg moves freely. If the leg is stiff straight from the box, it may be because too much paint has run into the gap during painting. In this case, you can scrape away paint with a thin knife, or remove the top layer of paint from the leg through repeated kicking movements using friction.
A leg that has come loose from its hook can be reattached. This does require a degree of skill, however, as there is not much space to guide the curved rod back into the hole in the leg. If the leg repeatedly comes off its hook, please get in touch with us.
For any other mechanical defects, we recommend contacting us to arrange a replacement, or simply ordering a replacement kicker directly for older figures.
If one of the goalkeeper’s buttons stays down and can no longer be pressed, this is often caused by a displaced leaf spring in the blue housing. You are welcome to attempt the repair yourself – instructions on how to open the housing and reassemble it correctly can be found in the downloads section of our website (tab: About TIPP-KICK – Downloads and Instructions). Alternatively, you can submit a complaint at bestellservice@tipp-kick.de. We can help or send you a replacement if the defect occurred during warranty.
The felt playing field should be laid out on a flat, stable surface and rolled out as smoothly as possible. Creases and folds affect the movement of the ball. It is best stored rolled up (not folded). If it becomes soiled, the felt playing field can be carefully wiped with a slightly damp cloth.
TIP: Bobbles on the playing field can easily be removed with a fabric shaver (bobble remover)!

Company history
Background information on the history of TIPP-KICK and the company behind it.
TIPP-KICK has existed since 1924. The patent for the game concept was filed in the early 1920s. The inventor was Carl Mayer, a Stuttgart furniture manufacturer and tinkerer. Edwin Mieg later acquired the patent and made TIPP-KICK famous over the following decades. In 2024, we celebrated our 100th company anniversary.
TIPP-KICK is manufactured by TIPP-KICK GmbH (Edwin Mieg OHG). We are a family business now in its third generation (with the fourth already involved in the company), based in Villingen-Schwenningen in Baden-Württemberg.
Yes and no. For cost reasons, large parts of production were relocated to the Far East in the 2000s. However, many of our TIPP-KICK players are still hand-painted in Germany to this day.
TIPP-KICK is traditionally most widespread in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The online shop at tipp-kick.com offers an English-language version and delivers to numerous countries worldwide, including EU countries, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, and Norway.
